Happy Monday Con Report!
Greetings, fellow space cadets and fantasy warriors! Crash Facepalm here, your intrepid astronaut reporter reporting live from Concellation 2023. And let me tell you, folks, this convention is still going strong! It's like a black hole of nerdy goodness - once you're in, you can't escape!
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending the George R.R. Martin panel. The man himself was there, looking as dashing as ever in his signature suspenders. He gave us some juicy tidbits about the upcoming "Winds of Winter" release. But then he also revealed that he's secretly been writing a cookbook for all the delicious food mentioned in his books. Who knew that roasted capon could be so delicious?
Later in the day, I got to meet the one and only Neil Gaiman! I tried to play it cool, but I couldn't help but gush about how much I loved "American Gods" and "Sandman." He even signed my copy of "Good Omens," which I will treasure forever.
And of course, no Concellation would be complete without a cosplay contest. This year's theme was "Star Wars meets Game of Thrones," and the results were truly epic. I saw a Darth Vader/Jon Snow mashup that made my head spin. And let's not forget the Daenerys Targaryen/Princess Leia hybrid - she had two dragons instead of one!
But the biggest surprise of the day came during the closing ceremonies. Imagine my shock when Benedict Cumberbatch himself appeared on stage! Apparently, he heard about the convention and just had to stop by. He even donned a Sherlock Holmes hat and coat for the occasion. Needless to say, the audience went wild.
So there you have it, folks - another day at Concellation 2023 in the books. I can't wait to see what craziness today will bring. Until then, keep on geeking out!
