The Facepalm Report
Greetings from your favorite hapless astronaut reporter, Crash Facepalm!
It's Monday, and the madness of Concellation 2023 is still going strong. I've seen things that would make even the most hardcore science fiction and fantasy fans blush!
The highlight of yesterday's events was a panel discussion featuring none other than George R.R. Martin and J.K. Rowling. The two literary giants got into a heated debate about whether dragons or wizards were cooler. I'm not sure who won, but the audience was certainly entertained.
Later in the evening, I stumbled upon a group of cosplayers dressed as characters from the hit show 'The Mandalorian.' They were engaged in a mock battle with a group of Stormtrooper cosplayers. Let's just say that the Stormtroopers' aim was as bad as ever.
But the real stars of the show were the fans themselves. I met a group of fans who had been camping out in front of the convention center since Thursday, just so they could get a front-row seat at the Doctor Who panel. And let me tell you, they were not disappointed. The panel featured current Doctor Jodie Whittaker, as well as former Doctors David Tennant and Matt Smith. The energy in the room was electric!
And let's not forget about the parties! Last night, I attended a Game of Thrones-themed party hosted by none other than Kit Harington himself. I tried to ask him for spoilers about the upcoming prequel series, but he just gave me a sly smile and walked away. Oh well, it was worth a shot.
As I write this, I can hear the sounds of another panel starting up. This one is all about the best sci-fi and fantasy podcasts of 2023. I better wrap this up and go check it out!
Until next time, stay nerdy, my friends!
